120 Broadway is a landmark Financial District property of significant architectural and historic character. Silverstein Properties commissioned Vertice to design and deliver 40 passenger elevator cabs and 40 corresponding lobby entrances where standard solutions fell short.
Integrating 40 cabs and 40 entrances into an architecturally significant, historic space demanded a bespoke approach balancing contemporary performance with historic preservation.
White laminated glass panels paired with precision oxidized bronze inlays; custom-fabricated bronze bar grilles mirroring the ornate geometry of the existing lobby ceiling; and integrated LED arrival indicators embedded above entrances — modern functionality without compromising the historic aesthetic.
The installation merged the building's original character with refined, contemporary elevator functionality — old-world craftsmanship harmonized with advanced elevator design and technology.
