Elevator design that survives the code book, the budget, and daily use

An elevator is a moving machine governed by a safety code. Good elevator design starts from the car's exact dimensions, rated load, and fire and accessibility requirements, then makes the result beautiful.

Design inside real constraints

Every elevator has a fixed rated load. Stone floors, glass walls, and metal panels all consume that capacity, and exceeding it can fail inspection and force a redesign. Vertice calculates weight at the start of design, not after fabrication, and checks the design against ASME A17.1 and local requirements.

See it before you build it

Our design process produces photorealistic renderings built to your cab's exact dimensions, with specification and weight calculation behind them, so the owner and design team approve the finished cab before a single panel is cut. See the concept designs and the Vertice Cab Designer on the home page.

Design for use, not just opening day

The strike zone, luggage carts, cleaning, and replacement lifecycle all decide how a cab ages. We detail materials and fixtures for how the car is actually used, because stunning is not the same as smart.

Proven in landmark buildings

Vertice has delivered cab designs for Freedom Tower, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the New York Stock Exchange, Lincoln Center, and flagship retail addresses. Browse notable projects.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in elevator design?

Elevator cab design covers layout, ceiling and lighting, wall and floor materials, handrails, fixtures, and controls, together with weight calculation, code review, specifications, and renderings so the finished cab can be approved before fabrication.

How much does elevator design cost?

Vertice prices design development at a fixed fee per project: $4,500 base for design development and consulting, and $3,500 base to consult on an existing architectural design. One base fee covers up to five cabs. See the services page for the complete fee schedule.

Can elevator designs be rendered before fabrication?

Yes. Vertice produces photorealistic renderings to the exact cab dimensions, with full specification and weight calculation, so the design is approved before anything is fabricated.
